Updates!

Hey guys,

It’s been a while. Hope everyone’s keeping well.

Okay, so here are a couple of updates.

#1 - Straits Records

Copies of  ”Taste of Life” single are now available at Straits Records, a cool/grungy/awesome records store at Bali Lane.

#2 - SoundOut Gig at Blujaz 18/8/2011

Last night, we had an amazing time performing and mingling with other awesome musicians at SoundOut Gig. 

If you haven’t already heard, SoundOut is a UNIFEM initiative that utilizes music to sound out against human trafficking. Human trafficking is certainly something that is huge on my heart, so I’m really glad that we got to be a part of this. 

Besides performing at the event, we also donated a track, “Taste of Life”, to the Sound Out Against Human Trafficking compilation CD, which features 13 songs from various local Singaporean artists, including our friends from Lunarin, Jeremy Soh and Cindy Teoh. Do grab a copy if you ever see it. :)

Go Do (Jonsi Cover) - we played this at Heritage Fest yesterday, and an Englishman came up to us and said he’s been in Singapore for 10 years, and we were the first Singaporean band he’d seen that liked and covered a song by Sigur Ros frontman, Jonsi!

—Don't Lose Heart - Hawaiian Debut!!!

AHHHHHH!

“Don’t Lose Heart” just got its first taste of radio airwave in the prettiest place on earth - HAWAII!! 

I think Yinky is still in shock. 

Frankly, I (Rach) am just sleepy and dying to get back to bed (woke up at 4.10am to listen/record it) but with a full heart. 

Thank you to the crew of Manao Radio, especially to the man who made it possible, Michael McCartney. And if you, like me, are a Rachael Yamagata fan, be jealous. This man dines/celebrates birthdays/does things with/is a personal good friend of hers. ;)

It all started with the discovery of a cool keyboard function, and a conversation over dinner.

(Yinky takes a bite of a McNugget)

Yinky: “White meat.” (the girl hates white meat)
Rach: “Oh really? Hmm… I wonder what chicken nuggets are made of…”
Yinky: “I dunno. Innards? All types of nonsense.”
Rach: “Maybe chicken faces. Bits of chicken faces.”
Yinky: “eew.”

(Both proceed to finish the box of 6 pc McNuggets.)
